This is a bridge at campus. To me this bridge represents the interdisciplinary healthcare we got in Norway. When a patient is in need of rehabilitation, it is important that all parties of the healthcare take part to get the best possible treatment for the patient. The reason why this is important, is that when we work together the results may be better because the different health workers have different knowledge. Combining the different knowledge, will provide a tailored made rehabilitation for the different individual’s needs, to make the best possible outcome. A patient’s problem may be complex, and patient’s whit the same injury may need different treatment, so to offer a comprehensive and individual treatment is very important.
Norway is what we call a welfare state. This means that the government, both federal and local, got the primary responsibility for the welfare of all the citizens in the country. This model is fully dependent on the financial contributions of everyone who is able to contribute. It’s based on the taxes we pay being distributed fairly and equally and used for those in need. When a person is healthy and able to work, he or she contributes by working and paying tax. In this way, we pay back for the services received earlier or that may be necessary in the future (Samfunnskunnskap.no, 2018).
“Samhandlingsreformen”, poorly translated into “the coordination reform”, is a reform that was issued in 2012 to strengthen the municipalities responsibility for prevention and health promotion in all sectors of the society. The idea behind the reform is to prevent disease, make different health workers cooperate even more, move services closer to there the people live and involve patients even more in the treatment to maintain their values (Helsedirektoratet, 2018).
In this way it will get even easier to get the help where you live. Every patient will also receive assistance in the coordination of treatment and follow-up, and people with chronic disorders will get a better follow-up. In addition to this, there will be more focus on health promotion in the local community, and people who wants to change their bad lifestyle that can lead to illness, such as quit smoking and reduce weight, will be offered help.

A well written piece. The post has been very informative on the health system in Norway.
The picture you have provided correlates well with the piece you have written. The contrast of the bridge and the interdisciplinary health care team is a well thought of concept and the topic fits in perfectly.
You have provided reasons for the reform, explained how it has helped citizens and given us a few examples of how it could change the way patients are managed with regards to health promotion.
Really a well constructed piece.
Thank you Alm Jonas for giving us a glimpse of the system in Norway.
