Dr Liezel Ennion is a NRF rated (Y2) researcher and full time permanent senior lecturer at the department of Physiotherapy since 2012. She worked as a clinician for 7 years before entering academia. She graduated with her PhD from UWC in 2015, and has an advocatory approach to research. Her niche is lower limb prosthetic rehabilitation, specifically focused in rural settings. She is also interested in the prevention of lower limb amputation and improving access to assistive devices in general. Dr Ennion has funded research projects, and often has opportunities to fund masters and doctoral studies who are interested in working on her projects. She supervises multiple postgraduate students, and teaches applied Physiotherapy and community based rehabilitation undergraduate modules.
